2 Hour Delay Schedule and FID Expectations
Flexible Instruction Day (FID) Expectations
Inclement weather may result in the District running a Flexible Instruction Day (FID). During a FID, students should follow the following expectations for the day:
- The FID will follow our 2-hour delay schedule
- Students will access class meetings through Google Meet pages linked in their teachers' Canvas pages
- Students will log into their Homeroom class, where attendance will be taken for the day
- Students are expected to join each of their classes
- Students must turn their Chromebook cameras on and be visible during their class meetings
- Attendance will be taken in each class meeting
- Teachers will meet with classes and assign assignments for the day
- Once students have received their assignment instructions for a class, they may remain in the Google Meet or leave the Meet to complete their assignments
-Teachers will remain in the Google Meet to answer any questions students may have
If a student does not log into their homeroom, they will be marked absent for the day. Students absent from class meetings will not receive credit for the day's assignment.
If your student was unable to log into any class meeting, including homeroom, because of internet issues relating to weather, please email Melissa Gonzalez (mgonzales@kasd.org) or Shawn Lynch (slynch@kasd.org). Students absent for the day must submit a parent note, a doctor note, or any other acceptable excuse for the absence to be excused.
